The Kerry Holdings Limited Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program Award
We are pleased to share that our SOIRÉE member, Mr. Alvin LEUNG Cheuk Fung, won the prestigious First Runner-Up Award for his excellent achievement in the project entitled “The Impact of Spike Mutations on SARS-CoV-2 Neutralisation”. The award presentation ceremony was held on April 26, 2024. Alvin also won Publication Sponsorship in this work.

SOIREE organized a two-day workshop at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, themed "Frontiers in Nucleic Acid Science and Technology 2023" (2023 NAST). The funding for this event primarily came from the generous support of sponsors, including the Department of Chemistry at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Changzhou Xinyi Biotechnology Co., Guangzhou Jintai Technology Co., and Guangzhou Ruibo Biotechnology Co. The event invited nine experts and scholars from Hong Kong and mainland China in the field of nucleic acid science and technology, along with several representatives from the business sector, attracting a total of 50 participants. Multiple collaboration intentions were established, including partnerships among academic experts and between enterprises and scholars, effectively promoting multi-faceted interactions between "industry, academia, and research," contributing to innovation and development in related industries. Mr. Armin and Mrs. Lillian Kitchell Undergraduate Research Award Winner
We are pleased to share that our SOIRÉE member, Miss Shan Qi YAP, won the prestigious Mr. Armin and Mrs. Lillian Kitchell Undergraduate Research Award for her excellent achievement in the project entitled “Dynamic Expedition of Leading Mutations in SARS-CoV-2 Spike Glycoproteins”.
The Mr. Armin and Mrs. Lillian Kitchell Undergraduate Research Award is provided by the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP). The award presentation ceremony was held on April 27, 2022.
